Helping Rural Communities Navigate Broadband Infrastructure Planning
As major broadband investments continue across the state, many smaller communities still face challenges understanding where infrastructure is being built, what gaps remain, and how to participate in regional planning efforts.
Project Compass helps bridge that gap through community coordination, infrastructure education, mapping and feasibility tools, and regional relationship-building support. These resources are designed to help translate complex infrastructure and funding information into accessible, practical resources that support informed local decision-making.
Project Compass partnered with Muskegon Area District Library (MADL) to bring digital safety education to families through its outdoor StoryTrail.
Project Compass partnered with Angels of Action to share cyber safety resources, giveaways, and township surveys through take-home meal packages.
Project Compass brought together Forks Senior Center, Tech Savvy Seniors, and Michigan State Police for a day of cybersecurity education and collaboration.
Project Compass hosted a listening session at the Evart Farmers Market to hear residents’ experiences with internet connectivity, computer skills, and digital challenges.
